  • I’m a casual real estate investor, I don’t fix and flip or have a huge portfolio… but I am trying to keep more properties than I sell. So I understand the challenges that come with navigating the market. In a tough and competitive market, Jake has always been amazing. He helped me get a great deal on a property despite the challenges.But the real testament to Jake's skills came after closing when we discovered a significant issue that had been hidden by someone down the line. The house was a fix and flip, and eventually, we determined that the people who sold to the flippers likely hid the issue. After closing, we had to take the flippers to mediation to try to get damages from them. They were able to prove no wrong-doing, or at least no intention of wrong-doing… but Jake pulled of some wizardry and asked them to help me anyway. He was so cool and calm through the mediation, he got the flippers to feel empathetic to my situation, and they wrote me a check for thousands of dollars toward repairs. Later, when it came time to sell the property, he expertly showcased the timeline of repairs and enlisted the help of an engineer to validate the property's condition, ultimately getting me a substantial profit. And this, in the spring of 2022 when rates doubled in the matter of months, and the market was very volatile!And then, there's my dream mountain home in Evergreen – all thanks to Jake. He worked tirelessly to find me the best loan deal possible (remember, this was during spring of 2022), securing a loan with an adjustable rate mortgage locked for seven years at a rate much lower than the market rate at the time.
